Holidays for helpers 2017

All foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong, the holidays are followed with the statutory holidays.  2017 Hong Kong statutory holidays are as follows:

 

January 1           (New Year)

January 28         (Lunar New Year)

January 30         (The third day of Lunar New Year)

January 31         (The fourth day of Lunar New Year)

April 4                (Ching Ming Festival)

May 1                  (Labour Day)

May 30               (Tuen Ng Festival)

July 1                  (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day)

October 1           (National Day)

Octorber 5         (The day following the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival)

October 28         (Chung Yeung Festival)

December 22     (Chinese Winter Solstice Festival)

or

December 25     (Christmas Day)

at the option of the employer

 

Foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong are entitled to the above 12 statutory holidays.  If the statutory holiday meets your employee’s rest day, the day after the rest day will be the holiday.
